The 19th annual Somerset Rail Trail Fun Run or Ride is just around the corner, and we need your help!

Held next Sunday 10th July 2022, the fun run or ride will take place on Australia’s longest recreational rail trail and is an initiative of Somerset Regional Council with the Ipswich Hospital Foundation jumping on board as the Charity beneficiary.

As the Charity Beneficiary, IHF will receive $2 from every ticket sale from this event and in turn, we are needing some awesome volunteers to help ensure the event runs smoothly next Sunday!

As a volunteer, you will receive one piece of FREE MERCHANDISE and a COMPLIMENTARY BBQ BREAKFAST located at Fernvale Sports Park.

We need help with the following roles:

BIB COLLECTION VOLUNTEERS (2-3 people)
• Handing out of race bibs and pins to participants. Use the supplied tablet to confirm participant bib numbers before issue.
• Volunteers will need to wear a supplied high visibility vest

LAST WALKER VOLUNTEERS (2 people)
• Following the commencement of the 8km run / walk the ‘Last Walkers’ will walk the course, notifying SES staff and water station volunteers that all participants have travelled past the respective locations, and they may now pack down.
• In the instance that the Last Walkers come across a participant or individual in distress notify event organisers and first aid
• Volunteers will need to wear a supplied high visibility vest, a remote radio and contact number sheet

WATER STATION VOLUNTEERS (2-3 people)
• Staff 1 of 3 water stations along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail between Lowood and Fernvale.
• Setup the water station (all equipment will be on site at the location), fill cups and ensure water is ready to go prior to the event.
• Water station volunteers will need to utilise their own vehicle to access the designated sites.
• Volunteers will need to wear a supplied high visibility vest, a contact sheet
