Wichita Alternative Gift Market SWE Table signup sheet
Hi SWE Wichita members!
Once again, our section is sponsoring a table at the Alternative Gift Market, where we'll be promoting sponsorships for girls in STEM through Earthwatch's Girls in Science program. In exchange for their donation, shoppers can take one of our handmade ornaments to give as a meaningful holiday gift.
First, we need ornament makers! Join us on Sunday, November 8, from 2:00-4:00 PM at ReCreate Riverside (2530 W. 13th St.), Wichita's newest creative reuse and craft supply thrift store. Space is limited to about 10 volunteers, so please sign up if you'd like to help assemble ornaments.
Then, we need volunteers for the Alternative Gift Market on November 14. No experience is required, and you will not be handling money. Your role will be to greet visitors, keep our ornament display looking nice, and represent SWE while sharing information about our program. The signup lists four 90-minute shifts, but volunteers should plan to arrive a little early and overlap with the next shift to ensure smooth coverage.
This is a fun, low-stress volunteer opportunity and a great way to help support girls in STEM while representing SWE in the community.
