Role Overview:
Demo Derby Ambassadors are an essential part of the Demolition Derby experience at the Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show. These volunteers are stationed at the Grandstand entrances and seating areas, ensuring that all guests enjoy a smooth, safe, and welcoming entry to one of the Fair’s most popular events.
Responsibilities:
Greet patrons with a warm welcome as they arrive for the Demolition Derby.
Scan tickets and verify entry for all ticketholders.
Apply wristbands to guests quickly and efficiently.
Direct fairgoers to their seats, offering guidance on seating sections and accessibility areas.
Provide clear information about show start times, facilities, and safety guidelines.
Assist with crowd flow at entry points and work closely with staff to keep the process organized.
Represent the Fair with enthusiasm and ensure every guest feels taken care of.
Skills & Qualities:
Outgoing, approachable, and comfortable engaging with large crowds.
Organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to give clear directions.
Dependable and punctual, with attention to detail in ticket and wristband checks.
Team-oriented and cooperative with other volunteers and staff.
Time Commitment:
MONDAY OCTOBER 13 - 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Volunteers may be asked to arrive 1/2 hour prior to event start for setup and training.
