Docent Training: Biodiversity Education Center at Coppell Nature Park signup sheet

Are you passionate about conserving the natural environment? Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge about the natural world while having fun with students? Consider becoming a volunteer Docent for the Biodiversity Education Center at Coppell Nature Park. BEC Docents are a committed group of adult volunteers who receive training to take a leadership role in education programs such as field trips and guided hikes. Docents are a vital component of the quality programming BEC offers to the community. Docent training qualifies an adult volunteer to independently facilitate education activities such as games, interactive lessons and nature walks. The training provides:
- an overview of field trip logistics and learning activities
- safety protocol
- a field trip simulation provides examples of actives and an introduction to the facilitator experience
Docent training is offered two times each year in the Spring and Fall. Please join us for the next scheduled training on Saturday, February 1st, from 3:00pm-5:00pm. Call 972-304-3581 or email for further assistance.
