Davidson Bike Month & Bike/Walk to School (May 2024) signup sheet

Thanks for your interest in supporting National Bike Month and Bike/Walk to School Day! The Davidson Parks and Recreation Department is helping to coordinate community service opportunities - see list below.

May 4 | Lake Norman Bike Expo
- The expo will be held in conjunction with Davidson Town Day (10am-noon) with a 10-Mile Community Ride (10:30am) and a Family Ride (11:00am). Visit www.townofdavidson.org/bikemonth for details.

May 8 | Bike/Walk to School Day
- Volunteers are needed to provide support at key intersections throughout town, to help local students during Bike/Walk to School Day. Adults and teens (age 15+) may sign up below. We will have bright color vests volunteers to wear. An email with detailed information about location and supplies will be sent to all volunteers prior to the event. Police/Crossing Guards and Parks & Rec staff locations will be as follows: Griffith and Beaty, S. Main St./Chairman Blake (CVS), Davidson K-8/South St., Bike Patrol, and patrol car from Robert Walker to Main St.

- If you can lead a "Walking School Bus" or "Bike Train" from your neighborhood, please provide the meeting time and location.

May 13-17 | Bike to Work Week (or around Town)
- Participate through the week! Check with your employer for incentives.
