Hello and thank you for checking out this year's Volunteer Signup sheet for the Arboretum Wreath and Gift Sale!
Please feel free to sign up for 1 or more consecutive shifts and make a day of it! We have tried to keep most shifts under 4 hours so that you can mix it up a bit and help out in a number of ways if you're so inclined.
Be sure to check out the Food donation options at the bottom of the signup sheet, if you're interested in bringing something to share for the All Volunteers Lunch area. Thanks!
Sales Ticket Writers:
Volunteers will fill out a tally sheet, recording the price of each piece of merchandise being purchased. [Cashiers will subtotal purchases, add tax and calculate final cost so you don't have to]. Sales Ticket Writers will also help hand out boxes, answer questions, direct guests, offering to assist them in carrying out their selections to the Cashier's table. Training, aprons, small clipboards with tally sheets, and calculators will be provided.
Holding Table Assistant:
Volunteers write customer's first name on a post-it to be placed on their 'Hold' item(s) and place items gently on the holding table. Holding Table Assistants will also hand out boxes, remind customers to ask a Sales Ticket Writer (in red aprons) to tally their purchases, and let customers know that additional potted plants and succulent wreaths are for sale OUTSIDE. Training and attractive green vests will be provided.
Membership & Welcome table:
Arboretum Board Members will confirm existing members’ status and process new memberships during Members only hour, 9-10am. [please note Board members, if you prefer to help in another way, please feel free to sign up for anything else on the list or email me (Katie) directly with questions].
Welcome Table (& membership information available): After the Members only hour (9-10am) plus some, this will become the Welcoming table and volunteers will greet shoppers and answer any questions about Arboretum membership and/or areas to visit in the gardens.
Volunteers will help inventory and pack up remaining merchandise, break down tables, and clean the areas. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
