Volunteers are needed to help with our beloved Pig Out event, which will return to Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country Friday, September 24th and Saturday, September 25th. The Guest Chef Dinner welcomes a small number of guests within set pods for a culinary experience from local and visiting chefs; the Pig Out Trails will take guests safely to 4 wineries in our region as the "Escape the Pen" for a food and wine adventure.
GUEST CHEF DINNER
Volunteers are needed to assist Friday during the day for set-up for the dual location dinner, then during the evening at one of two winery locations for support of dinner service and delivering to guest expectations. All aspects of the Guest Chef Dinner are being offered using the safety and sanitization measures recommended under the Provincial Health Orders.
Volunteer shifts are approximately 5 hours for either afternoon or evening shifts. Set-Up Crew is not required to attend an orientation session. Dinner Service/Support would benefit from joining the orientation but it is not mandatory.
PIG OUT TRAILS
Volunteers are needed to help as either bus leads on one of the 20 buses that will be guiding groups of up to 30 guests safely and within current pandemic protocols (adapted to match Public Health Orders in effect at time of event) along their trail; we also need volunteers to help get the food out to the wineries and help setting out the food for the groups coming.
Trail Bus Host - you will be given a list of people for your bus and will be responsible for checking them in at the beginning of the day and at each stop. You will need to remind people to wear masks on the bus and use the hand sanitizer. You will ride on the bus with this group. Each bus requires ONE person as Trail Bus Host, volunteer shifts are independent.
Food Runner/Server - you will start by picking up food for your wineries at Oliver Eats before heading to your first of 4 stops to set-up food for guest pick-up. You will be delivering the same course to each of your 4 stops. You will need you own transportation for this position, a stipend for gas will be provided. Each Food Runner/Server will be on a different set of wineries for their deliveries, vehicle sharing will likely not work.
Volunteer shift commitment is approximately for 6 hours for Trail Bus Hosts and approximately 4.5 hours for Food Runner/Server . Volunteer appreciation gift will be given.
There will be a mandatory volunteer orientation meeting on Tuesday where we will provide you a detailed description of duties and responsibilities and to address any questions that may arise. Please sign-up for either the 4:00pm or 5:30pm session.
