Planting a History of Wheat signup sheet

We planted a history of wheat plot in 2022 which was harvested in 2023 and it was really interesting to be able to see how pour grains have evolved over hundreds of years. Last time, our plot started with Emer and Einkorn and an ancient Spelt ancestor and through 24 different grain varieties took us up to newly bred varieties of barley by the James Hutton Institute.

We will be sowing small square metre plots to once again begin to tell the story of the evolution of wild grass into the grains that we eat today.
