The CCAP is proud to announce that we are, once again, hosting the Connecticut Cycling Festival in downtown Hartford. Due to our continued success with this great fall race, it is more important than ever that we have volunteers there to help. Whether you ride a unicycle or tricycle, road bike or mountain bike, or no bike at all, all you need is a love of cycling and some free time. We will need many enthusiastic supporters to take charge of important things such as registration, course set-up, marshaling and more!
Position descriptions:
Pre-event Prep - help assemble fencing, set up pop-up tents, arrange tables, mark off expo area locations and help with the other tasks to ensure downtown Hartford is ready for the races. Hunter Pronovost will be your volunteer team leader.
Registration - help riders get signed in for their races, complete all necessary paperwork, and assign them their race number. Caitlin Charles will be your volunteer team leader.
VIP Event Support- help set up and take down the the VIP lunch from 3-5:30 PM. David Hoyle will be your volunteer team leader.
Expo area - help get the expo area set up by directing vendors to their correct locations, making sure they have everything they need, making sure the expo area runs smoothly, and pointing spectators in the right direction. Your volunteer team captain will be Jeffrey Deverux.
Signage- set up all promotional signs and banners. Large vinyl signs will be hung from fencing and tents along the race course. Your volunteer team captain will be Hunter Pronovost.
Production team - help the announcer get riders correctly staged for the beginning of their race, find winners at the end of the races and get them to the podium, and carry info between the announcer, the officials, and registration. Your volunteer team captain will be Karen Franzen.
Course Marshall - help insure that the event runs smoothly and safely for everyone. You'll be assigned to a spot on the course to monitor spectator traffic around the course and most importantly across the course during races to make sure that racers and spectators are safe. Your volunteer team captain will be Ron Larose.
Urban Mountain Bike Assistants - You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the urban mountain bike course, which will consist of log hurdles, jumps, ramps and other obstacles. John Harris will be your volunteer team captain and provide you with all the on-site instruction you need.
Additional info:
Each of you will receive additional information, via email, specific to each of your roles, after you have signed up. If you have any questions in the meantime, however, don't hesitate to ask! Evan@ctcyclingadvancement.com
The CCAP kindly thanks all of you in advance for your help and support, and would just like to remind you that it is only because of you that we are able to put together so many great events. Know that your efforts go directly to supporting the greater cycling community, and specifically, to helping the CCAP engage youth, all across the state, with the sport we all love.
THANK YOU!
