Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Please wear BLACK and PURPLE if you can, the ROCKCATS colors! The following are examples of typical tasks we need volunteers for. These can vary from venue to venue, please be prepared to help out with a variety of tasks. WE APPRECIATE YOUR FLEXIBILITY! When you arrive, if there is any task in particular you are unable to perform, we will do our best to accommodate you! You see the show you are volunteering for, for free! Load in will see the first show of the run for free. Load out will see the last show of the run for free, which is followed immediately by loading out. It is important that you confirm your shifts with us, and let us know if something comes up and you can’t make it or will be late. We try our best to get our volunteers seats, but if you want to absolutely guarantee a seat, buy a ticket. If you still have questions do not hesitate to email us!

LOAD IN/LOAD OUT SHIFTS:
Must be able to do some heavy lifting! Depending on the venue there can be a lot of walking, lifting, and pulling.
*Loading in- Help bring in the gear from the bus, set up and assemble the stage props, set up merchandise tables.
*Loading out- Clean stage props, pack in designated bags and bins. Breakdown and pack merchandise. Bring everything to the bus. Breakdown and wipe out cat carriers.

SHOW SHIFTS:
*Bring cats to and from the bus before and after shows, or to playpens between shows.
*Setting up cat playpens backstage with newspaper, litter boxes, and water bowls. Scooping playpen boxes and refilling water bowls. Breaking down playpens, cleaning litter boxes, packing it all up.
*Box office- Checking tickets and will call lists at the door/box office. Giving wristbands to VICP1 and VICP2, and hand stamps to General Admission. Possibly giving Purrbills to VICP’s.
*Ushers- Tape signage to VICP1, VICP2, and GA seating areas. Possibly put out Purrbills. Help direct people to their seats. Help direct the audience on and off stage during the meet and greet AFTER the show.
*Merchandise- If you are an organized person this is the task for you! A large part of how we take care of the cats is due to merchandise sales. Sales begin when lobby doors open, close during the show so you can watch, then begin again while the audience does meet and greet, and end whenever the after show rush stops.
*Selling cat ears- Before the show, walk through the audience making cash sales of ears and small items
*Rock Cats helpers- During the show, as the band is introduced there are several positions where you will give treats and simple hand gestures to keep the cats playing their instruments when it’s their turn. After the show you will continue to do the same when people want pictures during the meet and greet.
*Sweeping between shows and various other cleaning.
