NCAGG Big Build 2024 signup sheet

This year the NCAGG is participating in The Big Build event hosted by the National Building Museum on October 19th to bring awareness to the public about the Guild and a brief history of studio glass while sharing several examples of technique and uses of glass as art. Historically most attendees are families with young children.  Part of our educational display will include a children’s activity table and a handout of glass industry resources for classes, supplies, services and support.

We are seeking volunteer participants, individual Guild sponsors and supporters from our industry colleagues.

Are you someone that just loves trivia, historical facts and, of course, glass? Then join us to develop the poster displays ‘all about studio glass’.

Are you someone that loves crafts and kids? Then join us to plan our crafts and coach our young visitors.

Glassmakers: lend us your glass for display at this event. Let's share a variety with our attendees: blown, fused, mosaic, cast, torch, bead or dichroic (include a before and after item with written description, but no sharps please).

Is your schedule so full that you can’t join us in person but want to support this effort? Then consider pledging a few dollars to help us offset costs for the displays. Contact shayna@artbyshayna.com or send checks directly to NCAGG Treasurer, P.O. Box 4239, Alexandria, VA  22303 with a notation that the donation is for the Big Build or make your payment with PayPal at NCAGG.org.

Summer planning and content development sessions will soon be underway. Sign up now. You will be a welcome resource and talent to help us achieve our shared goals to build public awareness about the Guild and inspire more glass lovers.

Thank you for volunteering.
