2023 SABF Elementary Reading Program signup sheet

Celebrate Law Day and read a book to young students (Kinder-5th grade) at a local school (Northside ISD and Harlandale ISD)! We're looking for volunteer attorneys from April 24 - May 5. The reading includes two 15-minute readings and a 15-30 minute question and discussion period. The reader will then present the book to the school as a gift for the library. You'll be sent a detailed email upon sign-up.

Below are the preferred date and time for each participating school. If there is a school below that you would like to volunteer at, but the date and time do not work for your schedule, please reach out to ashleyb@sabar.org for the alternate time that was provided.

Book:
This year’s book is The Cupcake Thief, an educational and fun story that demonstrates how the Justice System works when Zack's cupcake goes missing, and someone eats the evidence. Is Tyler innocent--or guilty? Only the Student Court can decide! A physical copy of the book will be donated to each participating library.

**VOLUNTEERS MUST BE A LICENSED ATTORNEY AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE SCHOOL DISTRICT'S BACKGROUND CHECK**
