School Streets is an exciting program returning to Selkirk Elementary! This school year we will be running the School Street on Fridays from November to June AND daily from May 12 to June 6. Thank you to all the volunteers who continue to make the program fun and safe.
About School Streets
Lord Selkirk Elementary, in partnership with the City of Vancouver and the Vancouver School Board, is participating in the School Street program again for the 2024-25 school year. During School Street times, no motor vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit the block, however, parked vehicles may remain. The program has been shown to improve safety around schools and to encourage more students to use active transportation (walking, biking, and rolling) to and from school.
