Open

Flatside Aid Station: This is the first of two aid stations for the Catsmacker. It serves the Cat only (not the Kitty). This aid station also helps direct runners up to the 2nd summit at Flatside, so will need to place signs and potentially send extra volunteers up the Flatside summit spur to provide directions. Location: Intersection of FSR 94 and Ouachita Trail (where the road opens up to a parking area, has the “Flatside Wilderness” sign, and has the spur up to the overlook). NOT the same location as the Traveller AS.

Brown Creek Aid Station: This is the 2nd Aid station for the Catsmacker, and the only full-service aid station for the Kitty. Location: Intersection of Brown Creek Rd and the OT crossing. (same place as the Traveller AS).

Course Sweepers: Sweepers start about 30 minutes ahead of the race and help runners with directions through the first summit at Northfork. They then wait for the race to go by and identify the last runners. Follow the last runners into the finish, and pick up flagging/signage along the way. Sweepers are essential to safety because they are the first to see and help runners who are having trouble. Sweepers go the distance!

Finish Line Timekeeper: This position is harder than it sounds! Runners are pumped to see the finish line, and it's your job to make sure that you get their name, bib #, race distance, and finish time as they fly by in a blur. That's alot of info, and it happens fast!

Cookout Cooks: The best part of Catsmacker is hanging out at the finish. We need help grilling burgers/dogs, keeping the serving area tidy/organized, keeping trash contained, and providing a fun atmosphere. We provide all of the burgers, we just need your help to flip & serve 'em! Bonus if you have a kickass post-race playlist.

Race Photographer: Stick around at start/finish and capture the smiles! 'Nuff said, this job brings alot of joy to runners. Nothing fancy needed, a cell phone camera is A-ok!
