Assalamu Alaikum Dear Sisters and Brothers

A unique leadership opportunity awaits you. Do you want to do something that is satisfying and of a great service to your community? Do you want to meet new people and immerse yourself into a culturally diverse experience? Then become a volunteer for the "Happy Family Day" event that will take place on Saturday August 3rd, 2019 at Masjid SALAM Center.

The Happy Family Day event is a collaborative effort organized by REDA, MAS-SSF, ICNA Relief, and other organizations. This event is for refugee families who have previously registered with REDA organization to receive school backpacks for their children (about 1700 families registered). Therefore, this is NOT a public event, so please don’t advertise for it for your community members. Attendance is only for the pre-registered refugee families.
During this event, families will also have the opportunity to receive useful advises about how to address some of the challenges they are facing in their new lives in the US and to learn about some of the adults and teens counseling services offered by MAS-SSF that can be of a great help to them. Children will participate in fun activities and receive a prize at the end of the event.

This event requires a lot of volunteers to make it a success as we are expecting at least around 1500 families to attend. The only qualification required for you to volunteer is your desire to help someone in need. You don't need any specific skills to serve during this event. The only skill needed is your smiling face, we also need bilingual volunteers in Arabic, Dari, or Pashto. Please sign up for one of the tasks listed in the sign-up list below.

On the day of the event, please sign in at the Volunteer Registration Table, and someone will give you all the information you need for your specific task. With the Grace of Allah and your great effort during this event we feel that the event will be a great success and will bring tremendous joy to the families in need.
