Join Young Friends of Shelby for another volunteer event! Young Friends of Shelby (YFOS) is a new group for park lovers aged in their 20's & 30's who want to connect, give back, and have a little fun along the way. Whether you're up for a volunteer day, a group hike, or just grabbing a drink after work, YFOS is a chance to meet new people and support the place we all love—Shelby Park & Bottoms.
At this volunteer event, we'll be joining collecting seeds from around the park to create free seed packets for distribution at community events. By harvesting these seeds, we're able to spread the joy of Shelby with our neighbors and make room for native plants and trees to thrive.
All needed tools and gloves will be provided by Friends of Shelby staff, and we'll train you on how to identify and collect seeds properly (no experience required & easy)! Once you sign up, an email with information on parking, weather, and more details will be sent to you the week of the event.
