WHAT IS EUCHARISTIC DEVOTIONS?
Eucharistic devotions is a centuries-old tradition of continuous prayer before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition. It is held in different Catholic churches and offered for special intentions. With a focus on the Holy Eucharist, this devotion provides a wonderful opportunity for the spiritual growth of each person and the parish as a whole. For those who would like to commit to a specific time slot, please sign up below.
Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist. Adoration is the word we use when the priest places the Eucharist on the Altar for us to be able to come and adore. The host is placed in a special container called the “Monstrance”. Jesus will be there for 3 days straight for Eucharistic adoration, even all through the night.
HOW DO I "ADORE"?
Adoration means coming to Church and sitting or kneeling in the presence of God. It usually takes place in silence. It is the chance to “adore” (to gaze upon our good God), to reflect, to thank God and praise Him, and to share with Him our concerns, joys, and sorrows. It is a beautiful opportunity to be honest with Jesus.
WHAT WILL I DO THERE?
Each time slot is one hour long. The most important thing is to be there and to open your heart to God. You can also read a bit of the Bible, pray the Rosary, write down what is on your heart, etc.
For those who would like to commit to a specific time slot, please sign up below. We will begin our Eucharistic Devotions on Friday November 6th following the 9:30am school mass and close with evening vespers and a procession around the church on Sunday November 8th at 6:30pm. Eucharistic Adoration will take place in the church. If you sign up for a holy hour in the middle of the night, please enter the doors closest to the school, under the arch. The address for our church is 6912 Chestnut Rd. Independence, OH 44131. Please contact monica@stmichaelchurchindependence.org with any questions.
