Seeking parent volunteers:
It's nearly time for our chess club to get started again! Students at Garden City love to play chess and they are looking forward to lunch-time chess practice and games in the library.
Last year, so many students applied to the club that we didn't even have enough chess boards to let everyone play!
For the past few years, Mrs. Johnson and Ms. Ruskey have been the sponsors of the club, and now we are looking for a few parents who know the game and would be willing to come once or twice a week to mentor players and guide us through the finer points of the game.
We meet at 11:45am until 12:15pm Tuesday through Friday. Starts immediately and ends March 8th.
