Volunteer Positions Available
This form is for all volunteer opportunities in the week leading up to the Thrifty Treasures Market on Saturday May 24, 2025. Each task has 2 shifts per day, and each line represents 1 shift so for one task there may be multiple lines. Be sure to double check the times you are signing up for
Please take the time to read the task descriptions carefully and if you have any questions, contact Joan Macdonald at: jd.macdonald@shaw.ca
Various positions include:
Set Up: Help set up tables and various small tasks
Baking: Please indicate if you will be bringing any baked goods to sell, and be sure to include ingredient lists when you drop off. All baked goods will be accepted the day before the sale
Coffee: Come in and make coffee and organize any snacks for volunteers working. Indicate below which day and time you can do this, please be at the church 30 minutes before your shift
Snack Provider: Purchase or make snacks for the week before the sale and day of the sale. Indicate below which day you will provide for, we will have up to 20 volunteers per day during the week and up to 45 at the sale. All provisions should be delivered to SSUC before 9am on each day
Receivers: Take items into the church and move them where they will be displayed, working with Sorters
Sorter: test electronics and determine functionality, unpack and display jewellery, sort and hang clothing, determine item placements based on common pricing system
Pricing: Price individual items outside of the common pricing system like Bake Sale items, Furniture, Antiques and Vintages items
Drivers: Take unaccepted items to Find a few times over the week. Times provided are ranges of available time, this task will not take the full hours indicated
Pick Up Items: Some folks may not have a vehicle or cannot drive their items to the church themselves, if that happens, it would be helpful to know who we could call to help with this. This is not a guaranteed position as there may be no one that needs this service, but having someone available anyway would be most helpful
On each task, you will see these letters: H/S/Sit
(H) indicates heavy work, lifting, carrying, and fast paced tasks
(S) indicates standing, any tasks that require you to be casually mobile
(Sit) indicates tasks that require you to sit or where sitting is possible
*Baking and Snack Provider have large numbers in People Needed because there is no limit to how many people can do these specific tasks, this does not indicate that we must have 80 people baking or 40 people bringing snacks*
