Help as a Bike Marshal in Aloha Festival's 75th Annual Floral Parade!
The Aloha Festival's event organizers are again looking for help from people on bicycles to assist in this year's 75th Annual Floral Parade as Bike Marshals. Bike Marshals will get to ride their bikes in the parade and have the responsibility to see that the parade flows efficiently by ensuring large gaps don't form between parade contingents. Slow paced and lots of fun. Be ready for a "slow roll" where you'll get literally the front-row seat & best views of all the incredible & intricate floral displays!
ROUTE: From Ala Moana Park through Kalākaua Avenue to Kapi‘olani Park
MEET: @Ala Moana Park ‘Ewa-end at 7:30AM (9/30/23) for training.
= There you'll collect your volunteer shirt to wear as well as safety vest (required for all Bike Marshals).
BRING:
- Bring your bicycle, helmet, water bottle, and aloha spirit!
DETAILS:
Parade starts 9:00AM and will end around noon. After your Bike Marshal duties are pau you are free to depart from there (parade finishes at Kapi‘olani Park).
- ABOUT: Aloha Festivals officially ends with a colorful procession of Hawaiian culture through Waikīkī at the Annual Floral Parade. Watch intricate floats decorated with a rainbow of fresh flowers and men and women on horseback showcasing the traditional art of pāʻū riding. Participants from marching bands to hālau hula to civic leaders display the unique aloha spirit that unites Hawai‘i’s community. More info at: alohafestivals.com/floral-parade
