Snow Goose Festival is looking for volunteer tour guides and assistants for 2-hour and 3-hour bus tours held during the Snow Goose Festival. Ideally one guide and one assistant on each tour. GUIDES should be knowledgeable birders able to interpret birds and signs of wildlife to bus passengers while leading the tour. Familiarity with the area, or ability to navigate maps is an asset. ASSISTANTS will help with logistics, helping everyone on and off the bus, conduct head counts and keep track of time etc. Guides and assistants are able to sign up for multiple tours, just be sure the tour times do not conflict.
Guides and/or Assistants are encouraged to participate in an orientation session on April 22 or April 24 via "Teams" that will provide necessary information about tours, tour routes and the overall event. **Guides and/or Assistant can pick-up scouting maps, binoculars/spotting scopes from the Tour Guide Info booth at the Snow Goose Festival Trade Show (Tofield Curling Rink) during the Festival.
All tours depart from Tofield Arena: 4748-53 Ave in Tofield. Tours are listed in order of departure time. TOUR IDENTIFICATION: SAT = Saturday tours. SUN = Sunday tours. "A" are 2 hour tours, and "B" are 3 hour tours.
Volunteers. Confirmed guides will be invited to participate in an orientation session to be held via zoom prior to the Snow Goose Festival (Orientation dates TBA – and the zoom link will be emailed to volunteer tour guides).
