Queenstown Multicultural Festival 2026 signup sheet

1. QLDC Events Centre Front Foyer Entrance Usher
πŸ“ Outdoor | πŸ•’ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm (peak only) | πŸ‘₯ 2 volunteers needed

We have a dedicated entrance for the festival, but we need 2 friendly faces during peak time (11am–1pm) to help guide people to the right spot. You'll be standing near the front foyer, directing attendees and making sure everyone finds their way in.

2. Event Entrance (Main Entrance)
πŸ“ Outdoor | πŸ•’ Shifts available 9:30 am – 5:00 pm | πŸ‘₯ 10 volunteers needed

You'll be based at the main event entrance under the trussβ€”the first smiling face people see! Your role is to welcome attendees warmly and invite them to support the festival with a donation. We use the phrase "pay what you can" rather than a set gold coin. There will be two EFTPOS machines available for those who'd like to donate by card.

3. Stage Management Team
πŸ“ Indoor/Stage area | πŸ•’ All day (shifts available) | πŸ‘₯ 6 volunteers needed

You'll be working closely with our Programme Coordinator to help the show run smoothly. Tasks may include cueing performers, guiding them from the changing room to the stage waiting area, and supporting behind the scenes.

If you take on this role, we'd love you to join our rehearsal on Friday 20th March, 5–9pm, so you can meet the performers and get familiar with the flow of the show.

4. Indoor Pathway Monitor
πŸ“ Indoor | πŸ•’ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm (2.5 hr shifts) | πŸ‘₯ 2 volunteers needed

This role is similar to the Event Entrance team, but based indoors. We know some people might try to enter through the wrong doors, so we need 2 friendly helpers to gently guide them toward the main entrance and keep the flow moving.

5. Setup Crew – Friday 20th March
πŸ“ Indoor/Outdoor | πŸ•’ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm | πŸ‘₯ 12 volunteers needed

Come help us build the magic! We need hands to:
> Decorate the hall
> Set up barriers
> Arrange tables and chairs
> Put up signage, maps, and bunting
Make everything look beautiful before the big day

6. Pack Down Crew – Saturday 21st March
πŸ“ Indoor/Outdoor | πŸ•’ From 5:00 pm onwards | πŸ‘₯ 8 volunteers needed

After the celebrations, we need a team to help return the venue to its original state. Tasks include:
> Packing down tables and chairs
> Removing tablecloths and decorations
> Collecting any rubbish
> Leaving the hall clean and tidy

7. Bike Valet Parking Attendant – Saturday 21st March
πŸ“ Outdoor | πŸ•’ From 10.30am to 3pm | πŸ‘₯ 2 volunteers needed
> Welcome people using the bike valet
> Help direct them to park their bikes
> Point them toward the main event entrance once they're parked
