AUDITION NOTICE
Death Tax

Edmonds Driftwood Players is seeking actors for their upcoming production of Death Tax, part of our TIPs (Theatre of Intriguing Possibilities) series.

Audition Dates
Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 pm and Monday, August 12, 2019 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

Audition Location
Edmonds Driftwood Players Administrative Office, 306 Main Street, Edmonds, WA 98020 (Lower level of the Bank of America).

What to Prepare
Headshot and resume required, and 1-2 minute monologue.

Callbacks (By invitation only)
Monday, August 19, 2019, time and location TBD.

Rehearsal Dates
August 26 – October 16, 2019. Rehearsal schedule will be finalized after casting and are generally held on Monday through Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. Actors cast in the show may not be called to every rehearsal.

Performance Dates
This production plays at The Wade James Theatre, home of Edmonds Driftwood Players, 950 Main Street, Edmonds, WA 98020 on Thursdays through Sundays (8 performances total) from October 17 – 27, 2019. Performances are Thursdays – Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Performances and strike (immediately following closing performance) are mandatory.

ABOUT THE SHOW
“Maxine is sick. Maxine is dying. Maxine has money, lots of it. And she can feel herself getting worse. She does not consider this a mere matter of chance. It's December, 2010, and the tax code is about to change. Maxine's estranged daughter stands to inherit a great deal more money if Maxine passes in December than if she lives past the New Year. "It wouldn't be much for my daughter to pay you off," says Maxine, daring Tina to contradict her. "You wouldn't cost much." As Tina's actions come under increased scrutiny by her supervisor, Todd, and as Maxine's daughter shows up demanding information, the walls begin to close in on the nurse, whose mind is further clouded with worry for a son back in Haiti. What unfurls is a spellbinding thriller about money, power and the value of a human life.”
