Please contact the event coordinator for further details.

The Metropolitan Orchestra of St. Louis and Union Avenue Opera have partnered to present a FREE concert on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th at 5:00PM in Frontier Park in downtown St. Charles, MO. The concert features Leonard Slatkin, Christine Brewer, UAO Artistic Director Scott Schoonover, and MOSL Music Director Wendy Lea in an exciting musical program.

Social distancing will be maintained at the concert and all volunteers and musicians will be required to wear masks. The audience will be instructed to sit at safe distances will be asked to wear masks when social distancing cannot be maintained.

There are several tasks that we need your assistance with that day -- some during the rehearsal (beginning at noon) and some during the concert proper (the concert should conclude by 6:30PM). Volunteers are being recruited from both organizations and I hope you can help us put our best foot forward in these new and changing times in the performing arts. Volunteers during the rehearsal will be able to experience the concert at that time or are welcome to return that evening for the concert program.

As this is an outdoor concert, there are no formal dress requirements for volunteers, but we ask that you remember you will be representing both organizations and that you dress appropriately for the duty assigned. (With the exception of the volunteer(s) who will be onstage during the concert, who will be asked to dress in all black). We will have volunteer badges for you to wear to distinguish you from the audience.

More details will be available as we finish working out the details for the concert. If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact UAO Administrative Director Emily Stolarski at info@unionavenueopera.org (if you’d like to speak on the phone, please send me an email with your phone number and I will call you as I am still working from home and not available via the UAO phone number).

Thank you for your dedication to the performing arts in St. Louis.
We can't wait to make music together again!
