Join HealthStart Foundation this summer as we bring our signature Snack Science Summer Children's Health Education Workshops (CHEWS) from June 21st to August 6th to 12 HACA (Housing Authority of the City of Austin) locations. Children will learn how to take care of their bodies, minds, and communities while listening to a story, doing a science experiment / physical activity / social emotional activity and make a delicious, healthy snack.
Volunteers will assist in activities on site, management of the children, food distribution, and other duties as assigned. Volunteers will need to have a food handlers certificate and background check (both provided by HealthStart Foundation). You must be able to commit to one full 90 minute shift for the duration of the 7 week program.
