Thank you for being willing to help with Building Hosting at the Fair! Below you will find some information, tips and things to do, while you are hosting.
1. Remind visitors that there is NO food or drinks allowed in the Exhibit Buildings. They can leave their drinks on the front porch.
2. Remind visitors to not touch the exhibits.
3. While you are hosting…
a. Please sit near the entrance.
b. Be approachable (smile, and greet) to visitors
c. Let visitors know you are there to help if they have questions.
d. Be knowledgeable about what projects groups/exhibits are in your buildings.
e. Take time to look at the exhibits yourself, so you can answer questions.
f. Chat with visitors, let them know about 4-H.
g. Show them exhibits you/your children have in the building
h. Share with them about other events you/your children have participated in throughout the year. (Super Saturday,
Performance Arts, Awards Night, 4-H and Youth Conf., etc.)
i. Remind them 4-H is for ALL youth Kindergarten-High School. (Not just for farm kids.)
4. If visitors would like to know more about 4-H, there is an informational booth in Exhibit Building #2. They can sign up to receive a new member informational packet.
