The Canmore Young Adult Network (CYAN) aims to create an inclusive Canmore where young adults are given the opportunity to build relationships and play an active role in creating their community. In effort to do so, we are hosting our third Move Mountains - Candidacy Social on Friday, October 11th 2019.

Move Mountains is an event that is brought to you by young adults, for young adults. This is the chance for us, to get together, listen to live music, and create a platform for our voices. Not only will there be live music from local artists, there will also be the our local federal election candidates in attendance, ready to share their platform and listen to your questions, comments and concerns.

We need a team of volunteers to make this event possible. There are a few different shifts and roles available to get involved. By committing to volunteering at this event you will be given a CYAN sweater, a ticket to the event (including your drink ticket worth $5) and food at the event. You will also join the CYAN network of volunteers and be invited to our volunteer appreciation event. Volunteers need to sign up online or by getting in touch with Tara at Admin@cyancanmore.ca.

As this is a licenced event, you must be 18+ to volunteer or attend.

Early Set up Team - Help us set up the venue in the afternoon, before having plenty of time to rest before heading to the event! We will be setting up tables, chairs, music and decorations. We most likely will be done by 430 pm, but in case there is any hiccup plan to stay till 5.

First Volunteer shift - Help us run the event! We need people to manage the crowd, help people get in the doors, serve food & have fun! You will be working under the volunteer coordinator and will have clear instructions on what is expected of you. After you shift you are welcome to enjoy the rest of the event!

Second Volunteer shift - Help us run the event! You will take over roles from the first shift volunteers and keep things running smoothly. After the event wraps up at 11 we will clean up. Help event coordinator to take down the chairs and tables and clean floors. Make sure everything is put in its place accordingly. Sweep and mop the floors. Take out the garbage, etc. You are welcome to join the event early, however we do ask that you consume responsibly if you are going to volunteer.

Bartenders - You are responsible for serving drinks at the event. Serve drinks and clean the bar after the event, take out the garbage. Bartenders ideally have a valid ProServe, or have worked in the service industry before. You should be comfortable asking for ID’s and serve responsibly. You will also need to be comfortable handling cash.
