Invasive Species Control- Volunteer Opportunities at the Pine Hollow Arboretum signup sheet

The Pine Hollow Arboretum depends on the support from volunteers. The opportunities listed below involve helping arboretum staff manage and control invasive species. This is hard word, but all outside and incredibly rewarding! This type of work is what PHA needs MOST as we are constantly threatened by invasive species which outcompete our planted specimens. We will be pulling a variety of invasive plants including; stilt grass, bittersweet, multiflora rose, garlic mustard, barberry, grape vine and more. Please wear long pants, shirts and boots. Ticks and poison ivy are plentiful to please use caution. PHA will provide gloves, tools, water and snacks!
We have SO many unique needs; from weeding and invasive species control, water quality testing, tree labeling and mapping, docent lead tours, painting and maintenance of our visitor center, helping out at festivals and events and more!

Please feel free to email me at pinehollowarb@gmail.com if you have any questions, another idea or would like more information. We will contact you after you sign-up with more details. Thanks for the support!
