We are SO delighted that you are interested in volunteering at this year's carnival (or carnivals)! Our camps take place at Tall Oaks Conference Center in Linwood, KS (www.talloaks.org).
Upon your arrival, volunteers will be guided to set up the carnival and to fully prepare for the campers who will begin arriving shortly after. Although there will be light snacks and water provided, you will most likely want to eat dinner prior to due to the length of the carnival.
For those that have not volunteered in years past: upon your arrival, someone will guide you to the possible activities and will answer any questions you might have. You will find all needed materials as well as an instruction sheet for the activity you will oversee. Examples of the activities include: a dunk tank, making and handing out snow cones, trivia questions, cookie decorating, and other traditional carnival activities. Those that arrive first will have first choice at their activity pick.
A few things to keep in mind...
If it happens to rain that evening, we will still host the carnival yet will move to all indoor or sheltered locations for the activities.
If you plan to bring your child and he or she is not old enough to oversee an activity completely on his or her own, please know that he or she will need to serve as a volunteer with you and remain at your assigned station until the close of the carnival activities. This is EXTREMELY important and is due to liability and safety reasons.

The campers really enjoy this evening of camp and it couldn't take place if it weren't for the kind volunteers that assist that night.
