We are excited to be back at the Spring Creek Opera House for the New Year! Classes will run Wednesdays from 7-8 PM.
The classes are taught on a volunteer basis. As the volunteer teacher you are expected to teach a class appropriate for beginners - everyone of all ages is welcome to join in. Please keep in mind, for most people this is their first yoga experience - yogis tend to already go to yoga studios. From personally building up classes like this in the past, by focusing on the physical body (alignment & the connection to breath) - you are more likely to engage & encourage students to come back. The Bow Valley is a very physical community - and your role as the community yoga instructor is to help them create a little more balance. We want to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
A CYAN representative will help with sign-ins & waivers, and you are covered under our insurance - you are just required to show up and teach, and hopefully have fun doing so! You are not required to show up super early (5- 10 mins is more than enough) and then after class feel free to chat with the community! We have mats for the participants and a CYAN staff member will be there to open up the space and will stay there for the duration of the class to lock up afterwards.
These classes are by donation - the money goes towards our rental costs of the space & our insurance to keep running programs like this.
